Who we are
Behind ECOMETRAJE we are Lorea Elso and María José Pérez, communication and marketing professionals with more than twenty years of experience in the film distribution sector, in labels as significant as Golem, Aurum and eOne, where we have worked on the releases of both major blockbusters and independent films. In the face of the general climate crisis, we have taken a step forward, actively contributing our experience in the sector that is our passion, cinema. Our aim is to pave the way for the audiovisual industry to be fully integrated into the sustainable future that is being built by international and governmental bodies.
Nuestra misión
Trabajamos para que el cine y la cultura en general se alineen con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda 2030 de Naciones Unidas, de tal manera que pasen de ser actividades contaminantes a opciones de ocio plenamente sostenibles – ayudamos a recorrer el camino para que la industria audiovisual se integre plenamente en el futuro que, desde los organismos internacionales y gubernamentales, se está construyendo.

Our team combines professionals with long experience in the film industry with specialists in sustainability and the environment to offer a comprehensive service adapted to the needs of the sector.
With more than 20 years of experience in the film industry, we know the market, the players involved and the particular needs of the film world. We implement sustainability organically and with minimum interference. We know that creative and strategic processes are essential and our advice will never affect the quality and results of the final product.
We have developed appropriate procedures for each stage of the film chain, be it project incubators, production, distribution, organisation and hosting of festivals/awards galas and theatrical exhibition.
We know each phase in detail, we know which moments are key in each process, as well as the different seasonalities. We know what the customer needs and when they need it.
We have digital tools that facilitate the implementation and analysis of data to carry out appropriate GHG Protocol compliant carbon footprint diagnostics, plans or measurements.

Meet our team
Seeking excellence and offering a personalised and comprehensive service, we have brought together the best environmental technical team, specialised in carbon footprint measurement, renewable energies, climate change, energy efficiency and sustainability plans, combined with our experience in the audiovisual sector and in the application of sustainability to the film industry, where we have carried out consultancy work and carbon footprint measurement in more than 40 projects, including films, festivals, cinemas and incubators in recent years.
Lorea Elso
A specialist in sustainability and environment applied to the audiovisual industry, Lorea has led consultancy work in sustainability, analysis and carbon footprint measurement in more than 50 projects in the sector, including distribution campaigns, cinemas (Embajadores, Renoir), festivals (Seminci, Santander, Márgenes), events (Goya Awards) and project incubators. A great connoisseur of the audiovisual industry, she worked for twenty years as marketing manager and head of communications at the distribution company Golem.
In 2024 she founded the consultancy firm ECOMETRAJE with the aim of being an active agent in the green transition of the entire film industry, from the conception of the project to its consumption in cinemas, passing through all the stages of the chain.
María José Pérez
María José is a consultant in environmental sustainability applied to the film sector, with a long professional career. She has supervised up to 40 carbon footprint measurement projects for companies such as Atalante, Bteam, Beta Fiction, Karma Films, Sideral or Wanda Vision, among others. Previously, in the distribution sector, he led communications for the multinational Entertainment One for twenty years. In 2023, she received the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos Medal for his work in Film Promotion.
The creation of the environmental consultancy ECOMETRAJE responds to the prioritisation of sustainability as a fundamental pillar for the consolidation of the future of the film industry.
Elvira Elso
Forestry Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Master in Renewable Energies and Energy Market by the E.O.I., Elvira has developed her professional career in the sustainability sector since its beginnings, in the environmental areas/departments of various public institutions (Cabildo de Tenerife, Consejería de Medio Ambiente in Madrid), private companies (Climate Change Unit of Endesa, Agresta S.Coop), and as a freelance.
Specialised in sustainability, climate change, environmental metrics, circular economy and decarbonisation, in recent years she has combined her work as a Sustainability Technician in private companies with teaching in the same field.
Especializada en sostenibilidad, cambio climático, métricas ambientales, economía circular y descarbonización, en los últimos años compagina su labor como Técnico de Sostenibilidad en la empresa privada, con la docencia en el mismo ámbito.
Emma Blanco
Industrial Engineer by the University of Navarra, Emma develops her professional activity for both public and private entities: energy audits, feasibility studies of renewable installations, photovoltaic solar energy projects. She currently combines her professional work with teaching and disseminating the responsible use of energy.
María Teresa Pérez
An architect from the University of Seville, María Teresa has spent several years practising architecture in the UK, where she also trained as a translator and technical interpreter. She is a businesswoman and a specialist in building, a field in which the introduction of sustainability is one of the areas in which most research is being carried out in recent times.
Magdalena Irigaray
A Magna Cum Laude graduate in International Studies and Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and with a Master in Public Policy from Sciences Po-Paris, Magdalena has been consulting in communication and management strategies for more than fifteen years. During the two years of her Master’s degree, she was part of a team dedicated to developing a Diversity Management Mapping Tool, a tool for international companies, NGOs and other organisations seeking to initiate, evaluate or refine their diversity management strategies.
Antonio Elena
IT solutions and systems architect. Antonio has led software development teams and IT solutions in several European countries and large companies such as Siemens, PwC, UST Global or SGS.
Fernando Bonelli / Bonelli & Asociados
Fernando is a multidisciplinary professional and multifaceted artist. With a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and having completed several masters at the Centro de Estudios Financieros, Fernando is the executive director of Bonelli & Asociados SL, a consultancy specialising in the arts sector, an activity he has combined with, among other projects, the artistic production management of the Teatro Español and the Naves del Español in Matadero until the end of 2023 and with the executive production and management of his production company Mayfield Pictures SL.
